A: We manage money for a diverse group of clients, including individuals, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, and businesses.
Q: What type of investments do you use?
A: This depends on the client. Investment strategy is determined after meeting with the client to determine their goals and objectives.
Q: Where will my account be located?
A: Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. serves as our primary custodian, but other firms may also be utilized. Your account will be held in your name, with Blackthorn Asset Management LLC having discretionary authority to make investment decisions on your behalf.
Q: How is your firm compensated?
A: We are fee based and receive no outside commissions. Our fees are based on the level of assets under management. The fee percentage decreases as the asset level increases.We feel that commsion based sales incentivize brokers to look out for their own interests rather than their client’s. As a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm we have a Fiduciary obligation to our clients. This means that we are legally obligated to find both the best investment AND the lowest cost investment for our clients. We are legally obligated to put your interests first.
Q: How do I become a client of Blackthorn Asset Management?
A: You simply review and sign a few documents, including Blackthorn Asset Management’s Advisory Agreement. We will assist with the transfer of assets and take care of the details. Refer to the Wealth Management section of our website for further details on the Process.
